Vote for your September Player of the Month
We’re a month into the 2016/17 Elite League season and it’s time for you to pick your PMC Financial Planning Player of the Month for September.
Voting closes at 1.00pm on Friday 7th October, the award will be presented after the home game vs. Fife Flyers on Sunday evening (9th October, 5.15pm face-off).
This is a new polling tool for the new season. It may appear that you can vote as many times as you like but only your first vote is counted.
So who do you pick?!
Canadian forward Matt Marquardt has made a big impression, leading the team for points (1+8=9) over the 6 games he’s played.
German Björn Bombis has also had an impressive start to his Elite League career posting 2+5=7 in 8 games, including a run of four away games with a point.
Otherwise, you might look towards Captain Jordan Pietrus, with 2 goals, 4 assists the Blaze number 16 has led the way for his team with his tireless work ethic and even dropping the gloves this past weekend in Fife taking on Brendan Brooks.
With 3 goals in 7 games, Brett Robinson sits just behind defenceman Josh Godfrey as the club’s top goal scorer. The Blaze number 15, labelled "the best player so far” by Head Coach Danny Stewart would be the bookies favourite for the award, starting the year magnificently with 4 goals, 3 assists for 7 points in 8 games, 2 on the powerplay, the month too included a run of three man of the match awards in a row.
Looking away from the point leader’s board, defenceman Kevin Noble has brought a high level of physical presence to the blue-line, whilst Shawn Boutin (0+3) and Jim Jorgensen (1+3) have logged big minutes in the absence of Marc Cantin, finding ways to contribute offensively too.
