Noble: "We have to find a way to win"

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze defenceman Kevin Noble admits his side must get better after the Elite League campaign began with with a pair of defeats.

On Saturday night, Blaze travelled to Nottingham, falling 4-3 but reflecting positively following a spirited fight back from 4-1 down against the much fancied Panthers team.

Sunday though was a different story with Blaze struggling to meet the high of the third period's performance the night before.

A double strike from Matt Beca was good enough to help Patton Conference rivals Manchester Storm to a 1-4 victory with the only reply coming from Marco Vallerand.

Noble, in his third season with the club said post-game, "It was obviously a frustrating weekend, our expectations are high this year and we wanted four points."

Following Saturday's game, Captain Jordan Pietrus spoke of "learning lessons", one of which forcefully outlined by his Assistant on Sunday night, "We have got to find a way to win it's as simple as that."

Looking at the weekend as a whole, Noble continued, "There were large stretches where we played well but it just wasn't good enough. We need to be better and we will be."

Blaze, again face Manchester Storm on Saturday, this time in Altrincham before Glasgow's Braehead Clan come to Coventry on Sunday with a 5.15pm face-off at the Skydome Arena.
