Blaze look to seal playoff spot

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze travel to the Sheffield Arena today looking to confirm their place in the post-season playoffs (5pm face-off).

Two points and a 7th straight victory against title chasing Sheffield Steelers would guarantee Blaze a place in the top eight following Manchester Storm's defeat to Braehead Clan last night.

This will be the tenth meeting between the teams this season, with Coventry having won six of the previous nine and Sheffield the other three.

The last time the teams met was two weeks ago when the Blaze won 4-2 at the Skydome Arena. The last meeting in Sheffield was in January, when the Blaze secured a 3-2 victory after penalty shots.

If you are unable to join us in Sheffield tonight, you can purchase the Steelers TV webcast for a game-day price of £10: - Blaze TV's, Ed Kimberley joins Jonathan Fearnley on commentary.

"We want to continue our run of playing the right way. Sheffield are too talented not to create chances but that is why we have Stewie [goaltender Brian Stewart] back there to help bail us out and he has been doing a fantastic job.

"When you go on a winning run against a team it gives you confidence and hope - and that is a strong drug. We know we can play with any one of the nine teams.

"But the guys are also aware if they don't play the right way, don't do the little things and don't outwork the opposition we will get beat. It is such a fine line." - Head Coach, Chuck Weber
