A thank you from the Blaze

Sadly, the Coventry Blaze's participation in the Elite Series came to an end last night with a semi-final defeat to the Nottingham Panthers.

The Blaze were honoured and privileged to take part in the event after over a year off the ice.

As mentioned regularly by Head Coach Danny Stewart, the speed of which the event was organised and the amount of time, effort and hard work put in by many people is to be applauded.

Overall, aside from a couple of natural hitches, we feel that the event has been a big success and we want to thank everybody who has helped us in any which way over the past four/five weeks.

First, we want to thank the Elite League and the three teams that we have enjoyed competing against. And also, all of the staff at the Jurys Inn in Nottingham who have looked after us so well.

Thanks to all of the staff behind the scenes who have worked tirelessly to help the event move along as well as it has.

Thank you also to our match-night volunteers, announcers, DJ, photographer, and commentary team whose dedication to travel to Nottingham multiple times over the past weeks has been outstanding. Also, to our media volunteers who have done such a great job helping to cover the event and output content.

Cheers to all of our sponsors of the event, to the people who were a Face in the Crowd, purchased jerseys, sponsored equipment, bought webcasts, supported the league's raffles etc. It's all meant so much.

Thanks to our off-ice staff and the biggest thank you of all to our players, our coaching staff, equipment managers, physio and medical team and most of all – YOU, our fans.

Your support throughout has been incredible and we hope you have enjoyed having Blaze hockey back, albeit at a distance.

We can't wait to welcome you back to the Skydome Arena for the start of a new season, and thank you again.
