The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are pleased to confirm the signing of 6’1” Canadian defenceman Tanner Lishchynsky for the 2022/2023 Elite League season.
Lishchynsky joins the Blaze after spending the 2021/2022 season with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL. In 66 regular season appearances the defensive-minded blue-liner contributed two goals, four assists before registering an assist in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games.
Prior to turning pro Lishchynsky attended the University of Saskatchewan playing 103 regular season games with 18 points (three goals, 15 assists).
Lishchynsky and the Huskies would make playoff appearances in all four seasons together, highlighted by winning the 2020 Canada West conference title as Captain.
In total the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native played 22 post-season games, tallying two assists.
The left shooting defenceman spent four seasons of junior hockey playing in the WHL, with both the Prince George Cougars and the Kootenay Ice. In 2015/16 he was named Captain of Kootenay.
In total he played in 180 WHL games with 25 points (12 goals, 33 assists).

He was part of some very good teams at the University of Saskatchewan and had a really good first season of pro in Tulsa last season. We love his compete, and his willingness to do the little things and put his body on the line.”
