Weber welcomes Bruton capture

Canadian forward Chris Bruton is a welcome addition to the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze roster, according to Head Coach Chuck Weber.

The 29-year-old native of Calgary, Alberta, has joined from Elite League rivals Braehead Clan for the remainder of the season, with Neil Trimm heading the other way.

Bruton will make his debut when Blaze head to Cardiff Devils on Saturday, with his home bow against Sheffield Steelers on Sunday (5.15pm face-off).

"It was a pleasant surprise when Chris became available.

"He is someone who plays physical and can provide some offence. He plays a direct, North American style. His play suits our conference and it was a no-brainer.

"When you look at his points he has got his fair share outside of his conference which shows he turns up against a very tough conference.

"He has played in the third best league [AHL], he has been a leader and he comes from the same background as me in terms of practice habits and how the game should be played." - Blaze Head Coach, Chuck Weber
