Stewart seeking "new blood"

In a catch-up with Blaze’s TV’s Ed Kimberley (here), Genting Casino Coventry Blaze Head Coach Danny Stewart has confirmed that he is seeking "new blood" to fill up his 2018/19 Elite League roster.

Therefore, as the only four not yet recognised as departing, the Blaze would like to thank Adam Couchaine, Alex Miner Barron, Vojtech Kloz and Dorian Peca for their time and efforts with the club.

The complete list of departures from the 2017/18 squad is as follows:

Brython Preece

Gustav Ahnelov

Alex Miner Barron

Vojtech Kloz

Dax Lauwers

Gaelan Patterson

Adam Courchaine

Dorian Peca

Ryan Dingle

Brett Robinson

Marco Vallerand

The one outstanding name from the list is Captain of the past two years Jordan Pietrus, with the club and the 32-year-old both yet to agree on his future.

Stewart commented, "Jordan has been a phenomenal player, person and a great ambassador for the club. Right now, there is no news to report. Both sides are currently looking at options and when we do have news, we’ll certainly update the fans."

To end the catch-up, Stewart confirmed that further signings are close and an announcement is expected by the end of the week.
