DRP Logistics, and namely Owner Rob Plaister, has supported the Blaze in a wide range of areas over recent years, from offering significant support to the club financially, to helping with logistical issues from express delivery to warehouse storage.

Always happy to help in anyway he can, that same ethos is one Rob and DRP Logisitcs take pride in when it comes to customer service.

If you are a business, or indiviual with a logisitcal challenge, look no further than DRP (Blaze profile page).

1/ How long have you been sponsoring the Blaze?

Since 2013-14, so our 6th season as a sponsor.

2/ Why do you sponsor the Blaze?

Initially, it was to promote and to raise awareness of the business which 6 years ago was very much in its infancy. Since then, our involvement has grown as the business has grown, and it's always special when we pick some work up from the partnership agreement. Which we do quite regularly.

3/ What have you sponsored this season?

We have just doubled the size of our previous rink side advertising board, when having a new up-to-date one fitted.

We have two corporate boxes (1 and 2) for every home game, Box 1 has the DRP logo at the front and this has been our “home” since 2013. We regularly invite customers, friends and family up there.

We now ‘sponsor’ Assistant Coach Dayle Keen, this helped him become full-time with the club (read more). We also have our logo on the back of the shirt.

As well as various smaller things to help the team out, which I won’t bore people with!

In the past we had our logo on the ice for three seasons, and of course we introduced the puck truck originally and enjoyed watching it drive round the ice for 4 or 5 years. We have also helped out with bringing players over mid-season. The list is pretty extensive, but we wouldn’t change a thing.

4/ What are your highlights or best memories of being a sponsor for our club?

Good question. The highlight as a sponsor (as opposed to a fan) was probably watching the Puck Truck drive out on to the Skydome ice for the first time delivering the puck to an astonished referee. I remember the reaction of the crowd and the players and feeling pretty proud. It was Paul Thompson that sold me the idea, as he had seen it from his time in Sweden. I wasn’t sure, but went with it, and it was an absolute winner. The great thing about Ice Hockey as a sponsor is you can be quite inventive, the club are accommodating to new ideas, the world is your oyster -within reason!
