Preview: Blaze vs. Devils 26/11/16

Following a disappointing weekend away in Scotland, the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze return to action on home ice tomorrow night at the Skydome Arena (7pm face-off).

With defeats to Dundee, Fife and Edinburgh, Blaze find themselves bottom of the Elite League table having played 16 games, picking up 11 points.

With a gap of just 4 points between 10th and 5th, Head Coach Danny Stewart is pursuing a quick turn-around in his club’s fortunes, before the Scotland triple-header, winning three straight in the league.

There will be a home debut for recent signings T.J. Syner and Barry Almeida, both registering their first goal and assist for the club last weekend.

Tomorrow’s opponents meanwhile are sitting pretty at the top of the Elite League table with 27 points from 17 games, 7 ahead of the second placed Steelers, though the Yorkshire side do have 4 games in-hand.

Having won 13 of their 17 Elite League games so far and with victory over Sheffield and Braehead last weekend, the Devils are high in confidence.

It will be the fourth meeting between the teams this season, Cardiff winning both in the Challenge Cup, Blaze victorious in the first league meeting at Ice Arena Wales.
