Noble returns for fourth season

The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are pleased to welcome back Canadian defenceman Kevin Noble for a fourth season with the organisation.

The 30-year-old, who has played over 160 times for the club, first joined in 2015 from the ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers.

In his debut season, the 6’1” blue-liner played an important part in Blaze reaching the Elite League playoff final and in year two was named best defenceman at the end of season awards. To start the past campaign, the gritty shot-blocker was proudly named an associate Captain.

In each of the past two summers, Noble has represented Team Canada in the Wayne Gretzy Ice Hockey Classic, a series played against Team USA in Australia.

Before arriving to the Elite League, Noble was a graduate and Captain of Mercyhurst College of the NCAA and played over 100 games in the ECHL and CHL.

Head Coach Danny Stewart said, “Kevin has battled for this team night in and night out for three seasons and we are thrilled to have him back for a fourth. Here in Coventry we talk about bleeding blue and he does it as much as anyone. He's a player every team needs. A throwback kind of guy in the sense that he knows his role and takes pride in it. He's selfless in his approach, and the things he does well don't show up on stat sheets. He was instrumental down the stretch in making the playoffs last season. Regularly matching against teams top lines and he did one heck of a job doing it. He's a big part of our penalty-kill and plays quality minutes. Important minutes. He's a valuable guy and he's keen to build on the end to last season.”

Kevin Noble commented, "I’m very happy to be back in Coventry and playing in front of the best fans in the Elite League. Playing in Coventry and for the Blaze has created some of the fondest memories of my hockey career. With a great nucleus of players already returning and new players to come in, I’m really excited to get the season underway. In addition, i’m looking forward to working with Danny and his staff again. The way we played in the second half last season was important to making the playoffs. Hopefully we can pick up right where we left off and challenge for league trophies.”
