Liam Stewart and Kevin Noble set to miss out
Genting Casino Coventry Blaze Head Coach Danny Stewart has this morning confirmed that his side will go into the weekend games against the Nottingham Panthers without import pair Kevin Noble and Liam Stewart.
It was hoped that defenceman Noble, who has been missing since early January could make a welcome return this weekend, but unfortunately the 29-year-old will remain absent.
Stewart commented, “I said last week that we would not see Kevin back on the ice until he is ready to go. As frustrating as it is for all concerned, he still isn’t right. Nobody wants to see Kevin Noble back playing in a Blaze jersey more than myself, but he’s not ready, and therefore we simply will not risk him.”
The Blaze Head Coach also confirmed that Liam Stewart would be missing for the weekend’s match-up against East Midlands rivals Panthers and Tuesday’s home fixture against the Edinburgh Capitals.
“Losing Liam is a real blow, but he needs to return home to attend to some pressing personal matters. Therefore, he will be missing this weekend’s games, and also the Tuesday night game against the Capitals. It’s bad timing, but we carry on regardless and we will be doing everything we can to get maximum points from the three games.”
