Lake named first-all star

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze’s top goal and point scorer for the 2018/19 Elite League season, Ben Lake has been named in the league’s first-all-star team.

With 34 goals, 43 assists for 77 points in 60 regular season games, the 28-year-old Canadian sat second for goals, and points and sixth for assists in the league's scoring charts.

He also added 3 goals and 1 assist for 4 points in 6 Challenge Cup games and managed a goal and assist in the 2 Predictorbet Playoff games.

Lake is joined by Darcy Murphy of the Champion Belfast Giants who narrowly beat him at the top of the goal and point scoring chart, and Cardiff’s Joey Martin on the first-all-star forward line.

On defence is Devils’ Gleason Fournier and Giants’ Josh Roach. In goal, is Tyler Beskorowany, again of the Belfast Giants.

The second all-star team is as follows: Ben Bowns (Cardiff Devils), Calle Ackered/Jesse Craige (both Guildford Flames), Patrick Dwyer (Belfast Giants)/Charles Linglet (Cardiff Devils)/Kyle Baun (Belfast Giants).
