Kopriva is BACK!!!
Following earlier news that Miika Wiikman will be leaving the club, the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are pleased to announce the return of Czech netminder Miroslav Kopriva ahead of this weekend’s fixtures against Fife Flyers and Nottingham Panthers.
The 34-year-old previously iced 11 games in Elite League competition whilst Wiikman was sidelined earlier this season.
He was named the iExcellence player of the month for October posting a save-percentage of over 90%.
The former Czech international has now recovered from the injury sustained against the Cardiff Devils and is looking forward to flying back into the UK tomorrow.
Head Coach Danny Stewart said, "Getting 'Miro' back is vital to help us get through a rough patch. We know what he brings and he knows better what to expect second time around. He will get on the ice a couple times in preparation for a big weekend for us. We would like to thank 'Wiiks' (Miika Wiikman) for his time here. He battled through an injury early on, and when he came back was put in a tough spot. He’s a great professional and we wish him the best."
