Keeno returns as Assistant Coach

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze Head Coach Danny Stewart is pleased to welcome back Dayle “Keeno” Keen as a full-time Assistant Coach for the 2019/20 Elite League season.

The Scot who joined the club in a full-time capacity thanks to the support of our partners DRP Logistics in September 2018, has made a huge impression in his first season and has quickly been identified by Stewart as a key man to retain as part of his off-ice staff.

In the past, Keeno has held formal coaching roles with Basingstoke Bison under-18’s and Sheffield Steeldogs (EPIHL) and worked directly with some of the finest young players across Scandinavia with the The Suihkonen Hockey Academy and The Furudals Hockeyskola.

He has also had the pleasure of being part of the Best of British Ice Hockey camps, and this past season has spent a significant amount of time, not only working with the professional Blaze squad but also the academy at all age levels.

Stewart said, "Keeno came in and gained valuable experience at the Elite League level last season. Having his help full-time will prove vital and allow me to focus on certain aspects a lot better. Keeno does a great job in a lot of areas and makes us better as a club. He will again play a pivotal role in our skill work, but at the same time assist me in day to day operations, practices, team preparation and game day management. We're really pleased to have him back on board with us."
