Go Gold on Blaze TV this Sunday

September is Childhood cancer awareness month, and whilst we aren’t able to turn the Skydome gold again, we will still continue to ‘Pass the Smile’ and ‘Go Gold’ in memory of Blaze fan and local Coventry boy Ben Crowther.

On Sunday (20th September) we will be re-playing in full our ‘Go Gold’ game from last September vs. Cardiff Devils in the Challenge Cup.

Coverage will begin from 4pm.

As well as remembering Ben, the aim of the night was to help raise awareness and essential funds for Pass the Smile in support of Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia group (CCLG).

Throughout treatment for Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, Ben wanted to Pass his Smile to other people to cheer them up. Ben’s family and friends are determined to make a difference to other children affected by cancer and Pass the Smile is Ben’s legacy.

Some of Ben’s family, friends and members of the NHS were at the game vs. the Devils and Ben’s brothers, Harry and James proudly presented the post-game Man of the Match awards.

Ben is missed every single day and remembered with a smile by everyone who knew him. Ben loved hockey (and all sports!) and brightened up everyone’s day on his visits to the Skydome.

If you wish, you can donate online to raise funds to support research into Ben’s specific cancer rhabdomyosarcoma here:
