Blaze welcome new face to line-up
Following injury to Canadian Dillon Lawrence during last night's victory in Cardiff, the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze will welcome a new face to the line-up against the Fife Flyers at the Skydome Arena this evening (5.15pm face-off).
Czech forward Dominik Florian, who has been training with the team over the past couple of months will make his professional debut with the Blaze after icing in the NCAA over the past two seasons.
With the American International College, he iced in 58 games with 27 points.
Prior, he spent two years with Coulee Region Chill, and a single season as part of the Austin Bruins, totalling 100 points in 139 NAHL regular season and playoff games.
In 2016, he was selected to and played in the NAHL top prospects tournament for the Midwest Division team.
As part of the North Iowa Bulls in the NA3HL (2013/14), he was also a NA3HL Silver Cup Champion and USA Hockey Junior National Championship Runner-up.
Head Coach Danny Stewart commented, "Dominik has been attending Coventry University and when we found out about him, we got him involved straight away. Since the start, he has come to the rink every day without any obligation and has really impressed us in training. With the loss of Lawrence last night we are introducing him to the line-up and are confident he can do a job. Depth is an important thing in this league and extra bodies never hurt, especially capable ones."
