Blaze to open Food Bank on Sunday
On Sunday vs. the Nottingham Panthers at the Skydome Arena (5.15pm), the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze will be opening a food bank in support of The Trussell Trust.
The Trussell Trust runs a network of over 420 foodbanks, which work out of more than 1,200 centres across the UK, including Coventry (find out more) and provide emergency food to people referred for support. In the last year their network gave 1,332,952 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis.
Bring food items to the game!
We ask all of our fans to please bring food items with you to the game on Sunday and hand in to the food bank which will be based at the open end of the Arena (Fanzone end).
Donations MUST fall within the following guidelines:
- Nothing Perishable
- Nothing Frozen or Chilled
Ideally it would be:
- Tinned Food and Packet Food
Urgently needed food items via: coventry.foodbank.org.uk
- Coffee
- Sugar (500g or 1kg)
- Rice
- Rice pudding
- Long life milk (UHT)
- Tinned fruit
- Long life juice
- Squash
- Toiletries
They've got plenty of (but don't let that put you off bringing):
- Beans
- Pasta
- Cereal
- Soup
