Blaze out to hit Steelers for six

After spoiling the Cardiff Devils' farewell to the BBT tent last night, the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are now gunning for a sixth successive win over Sheffield Steelers as they attempt to further boost their Elite League play-off aspirations.

After losing their first three encounters this season, Blaze have reeled off five in a row against Steelers, who visit the Skydome tonight (5.15pm face-off).

"We lost 4-2 in Nottingham last Sunday having gone into the third period tied and they then beat Sheffield 10-0 over two games.

"We know how difficult our conference is having to play the top four teams in the league night in and night out but that is the hand we are dealt.

"We have to beat these teams if we are to make the play-offs. We need to embrace that challenge and find ways to get points against them.

"Sheffield had the league MVP [Mathieu Roy] return recently and they have a who's who in their team but it is a challenge I love when we play against the arena teams.

"In hockey you find some teams you match up better against and we have done well against Sheffield. Against some teams you get bounces along the way and the hockey gods are looking down on you." - Head Coach, Chuck Weber

Tonight will also see the retirement of Dan Carlson's number 26 jersey, the clubs all-time leading point scorer will be in attendance for the ceremony prior to face-off. We are expecting a big crowd so please make sure you get your tickets and arrive early!
