Blaze Legends Jersey - Raffle Prize Launch
On every Genting Casino Coventry Blaze match-night, a special raffle sponsored by the Blaze Booster Club takes place.
For the first time on Sunday 4th November vs. Fife Flyers the first in a set of very special Five-on-3 'Blaze Legends Jerseys' will be the prize for the winner.
The Blaze Legend Jerseys will ONLY be available to win through the Blaze Booster Club sponsored match-night special raffle.
Usually, when a Legends Jersey is set to be a game-night prize, two weeks prior to that game, a past year will be chosen and fans will get the chance to vote from the roster of players for that particular year, and the winner will be the name to appear on the back of that years' Legends Jersey and available to win in the match-night raffle.
To launch against the Fife Flyers, the Legend has been chosen for you from the year that the Blaze last won the Elite League Championship (2009/10).
The Legend to appear on the back of the jersey will be our all-time top goal-scorer Adam Calder.
The Canadian who sadly passed away this summer following a hard-fought battle with cancer iced 384 games for the club scoring an incredible 257 goals, 277 assists for a total of 534 points.
The year in question, 2009/10, which was his final with the club saw Calder score a dramatic hat-trick away from home against Edinburgh to seal the title for Blaze. That included a last-minute equaliser and overtime winner.
It was the fourth Elite League Championship that he was pivotal to the organisation winning. His #25 jersey was appropriately retired by the club in 2016.
To be in with a chance of winning the #25 Calder Blaze Legends Jersey for season 2009/10, you need to purchase tickets for the Blaze Booster Club Special Raffle on Sunday 4th November each ticket priced at £2.
The vote for which player will be appear on the Legends Jersey for the game vs. Glasgow Clan on Sunday 11th November will be released later today.
NOTE: Once a player is voted as the name on the back of a Legend Jersey, he will be excluded from any other years where he was part of a particular roster. So for example, Adam Calder will not be available to vote for when the year is 2004/05 etc.
