Blaze Blue Army hit £30k after 5 years support

The Blaze Blue Army is proud to announce that over the past five years, through membership, events, away travel and other activities, the supporters club has raised over £30,000 to benefit the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze.

Run entirely voluntarily by fans, the money brought in by the Blaze Blue Army is used to purchase player jerseys each season, supply players with refreshments on away trips and also donations have been made to the Players Charity.

Popular events held by the Blaze Blue Army include the Ladies Night, Quiz and Race evenings plus the annually sold out Bowl with the players.

They also arrange coach travel to a large number of away games, including past Scotland weekends and the Playoff finals weekend, which requires arranging and managing coach travel and accommodation over a number of days.

Membership to the Blue Army is currently just £5 per-season with the following benefits:

  • Personal membership card
  • Exclusive gift
  • Prior notification of event
  • Discount on events and away travel
  • Vote for Blaze Blue Army player of the year and a chance to present the award

Derek Fellows, a spearhead for the Blaze Blue Army said, “We would really like to thank all of our members and the people who have supported our events over the last five years. The Blaze staff and players have always been keen to be involved in our social evenings and it’s been a pleasure helping fans and players connect off the ice, as well as helping to support the club financially. It’s also an important aim of ours to enable fans to travel to away games and the feedback we have received for the trips that we organise has always been very good.”

Operations Manager of the Blaze, Rob Coleman said, “The Blaze Blue Army do a fantastic job for both the club and its fans. We would particularly like to thank Derek and Bev but they also get a helping hand from a number of other people who give up their time to help make the supporters club and its events such a huge success. We look forward to continuing to work with them and support them as much as we can.”

The Blaze Blue Army will soon be launching membership for the 2017/18 season and also announcing details of coaches for away pre-season games.
