Ainsworth departs Blaze for Denmark
The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are disappointed to lose the services of Canadian forward Kelin Ainsworth after the 26-year-old informed the club of his wish to pursue an opportunity in the Danish Metal Ligaen for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.
The Thunder Bay native departs Coventry and the Elite League following 22 regular season games with 7 goals and 11 assists. He also iced in 6 Challenge Cup games scoring a single goal and assist.
Ainsworth who led the Hungarian Erste Liga for points last season (53) will fly to Denmark today to join up with his new club after a financial settlement was agreed with the Blaze.
Head Coach Danny Stewart said, "It's unfortunate to lose 'Ainsy' at this time. We are already on the search for a replacement and hope to have somebody in place as soon as possible."
