A message from Jordan Pietrus

Following news of his departure (here) from the Genting Casino Coventry Blaze, Jordan Pietrus has asked us to share the following message:

"All good things must come to an end, and unfortunately, after much thought and deliberation, Danny, management and I, all agreed that it is time to go in our separate directions. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the Blaze organisation for the past three seasons. Mike Cowley, Andy Buxton and James Pease, thank you for bringing me in and giving me the opportunity to be a part of your family.  Chuck gave me an opportunity to play, and Danny gave me an opportunity to be a part of a leadership group, I'd like to thank both coaches for their time, investment and belief in me.

"The people behind the scenes; Smally, Nikki, Monica, Jack, Seb, Seany, Mick, both Doc's, Vic and Matt, and especially Dr. Pete Townsend for keeping me healthy and on the ice for all but one game over the past three years, thank you.  These people work their butt off for this organisation and it often goes unnoticed and unappreciated, thank you for your time and unwavering commitment to the team.

"To those who have worked as part of the front office, Rob C, Dale, Sarah, Sally, Craig and Rob P, thank you for always going above and beyond to take care of not only me but all the guys.

"To Ian Webster, Benoit Senault and Neville Clements and all the great people at Coventry University, thank you for the opportunity to study and receive an MBA as well as the opportunity to work alongside you at Coventry University.

"I've met some amazing people over the past three seasons, unfortunately too many great teammates and friends to name here but thank you to all the guys that I was able to go to battle with day in and day out. It wouldn't have been the same without you.

"Shannon and I have memories, including the birth of our daughter in Coventry, that we will carry with us forever. To the sponsors and a special mention to Cross Check Clothing, volunteers and fans, thank you for always making my family feel welcome and right at home.  You took care of Shannon and Maeve in the stands, and when we were on the road, and when my parents and friends came into town you welcomed them with open arms.  The way Shannon was treated by so many people, many I never even had the pleasure of meeting, was simply incredible, so thank you to everyone who helped make Coventry our home away from home.

"Finally, I'd like to wish my former teammates, the team, and everyone in the organisation the absolute best of luck this year and in the future.  I hope that you achieve your goals of bringing some silverware back to the Skydome." - Petey
