Domish contract terminated
Coventry Blaze can confirm that they have terminated the contract of American defenceman, Jerramie Domish after the player failed a routine drugs test.
The UK Anti Doping Agency advised the club last Thursday evening that 33 year old Domish had tested positive for banned substances and that he was immediately provisionally suspended from playing until due process had been completed.
Domish has now accepted the results of the test and his contract with the Blaze has therefore been terminated with immediate effect, irrespective of sanctions that the UK Anti Doping Agency will now impose on the player in due course.
The club were under strict instruction from the UK Anti Doping Agency that the situation was to be kept confidential until the player had decided his course of action and we were therefore unable to comment on the player’s absence from last weekend’s games against Belfast and Hull until now.
The club will make no further comment on the situation and will now be focusing all our energies on this weekend’s Elite League Play Off Quarter Final series with the Sheffield Steelers.
