COMMUNITY - HEALTHY EATING
This scheme is presented in association with Warwickshire County Council

Following the success of our initial community programme, "Cash Back for Schools" in the 2006-2007 season we launched another major community initiative in support of Warwickshire County Council's "Winter Warmers" campaign to increase the take up of healthy school meals.

This new initiative was designed to encourage children to not only eat healthily but to look after their bodies and keep fit. There are two strands to the programme - a healthy eating assembly held by a member of Blaze staff and two Blaze players and the actual serving of school dinners, by the Blaze players, of the new healthy menu itself !

Blaze players go into the schools with the dinner ladies, serve food to the children and sit and enjoy the meal themselves with the kids.

This encourages the children to eat the food put in front of them, because they are identifying with the players sat in front of them who are not only fit and healthy but play sport for a living.

The message is clear, eat well, keep fit and look after yourself and you can be successful as well.

To get your school involved in the scheme, contact Sally Mahers in the Blaze Office on 02476 223220 or email blazeoffice@btconnect.com
