One of the original founders of the club, Mike Cowley has been Managing Director of the Blaze since 1997 and has vast experience in British Ice Hockey. Mike is the club's director on the Elite League board and previously served as a director of the sport's governing body Ice Hockey UK, representing Ice Hockey UK at many international conferences and at major tournaments. One of the original founders of the club, Andy Buxton has been Blaze Chairman since 1997. Andy combines his Blaze duties with the position of General Manager of the Great Britain Men's Ice Hockey Team which has seen him manage the national side in over 50 games at World Championships, Olympic Qualification events and international games since 2007. Andy has also served as an Alternate Director of the sport's governing body, Ice Hockey UK and serves as an Ambassador for the City of Coventry. Andy can be reached at email@example.com
After starting out as a match night volunteer progressing through to become the match night co-ordinator for the Blaze, Rob finally joined the Club's staff in 2010 and has carried out an extensive variety of roles within the organisation. As the Club's Operations Manager, Rob is responsible for managing all day to day operational activities including all aspects of the club's matchnight experience, fan relations and player support. As Media Manager, Craig looks after the all of the club's relationships with local and national media outlets. Craig, with support of his small team, including junior reporter Lola Luckman (pictured) is responsible for all of the club's media output across all platforms such as all forms of social media and our website. Sally left the club several years ago - to start both a family and her own business - but just couldn't keep away! Sally now works part time for the Club, looking after the extensive range of sponsors and partners that are involved with the Blaze, helping them to get the most out of their ongoing relationship with the Club. Sam was appointed Community Development Manager back in March 2015, he had previously worked for an organisation who specialised in sports provision in primary schools, delivering high quality physical education lessons. Sam has the responsibility of planning, designing and developing all the new programmes and projects in which Blaze Community Foundation currently deliver as well as the development of staff. Sam communicates with the school contacts throughout the time of them receiving our services to ensure that all programmes run smoothly on a daily basis. He has a wide variety of coaching abilities and always ensures that sessions are delivered to a high standard. Sam also plays ice hockey at a high level so understands the game very well which is a key aspect to his job role alongside his sports development knowledge. Sam is very keen to inspire a younger generation of ice hockey players as well as providing high quality sporting opportunities for local children and schools.
